How to read the payback
Purchase-price gap divided by monthly saving. The gap stays fixed while the saving grows with mileage — which is why the further you drive, the sooner it pays back.
Savings FAQs
Why is the payback column empty?
The comparison petrol car's price has not been entered — that field is optional. Enter it to see when the price gap pays back.
Are servicing, tax, and insurance included?
No — this calculator covers fuel only. EV servicing is usually cheaper (no oil or spark plugs) and annual tax is light, but insurance and depreciation can change the conclusion.
Is charging at SPKLU still cheaper?
Yes, but the margin shrinks: the SPKLU tariff (±Rp2,466/kWh) is almost double the home tariff. Use the tariff preset buttons above to compare both.
What's not counted here
- All default figures are estimates only. Fuel prices differ by region, electricity rates by household class — replace them with what you actually pay.
- Electricity consumption is derived from factory claims (WLTP/NEDC). Everyday driving almost always uses more, and charging a battery yourself loses power.
- This calculation is fuel only. Scheduled servicing, tax, insurance, depreciation, and battery replacement are excluded — any of them can change the conclusion.
- Payback is the price difference divided by the monthly saving, with no interest, instalments, or future price rises.
